Don’t miss the chance to hear Jasmine Hirsch, general manager of Sonoma’s Hirsch Vineyards (you’ll find their fruit in pinot noirs from Littorai and Williams Selyem) speak about “Place, Passion, and Legacy” at the Mercantile Library on Friday, May 6 (reception starts at 5:30 p.m., the lecture at 6 p.m.). Hirsch will share her and her brother’s story of slowly taking the reins from their father, David Hirsch, whose mission was to sell stellar fruit and make site-specific wine while “ensuring that his own family’s name was included in the telling of America’s resurgence in the fine wine world.”
Daughter Jasmine will expound upon the their terroir-centered philosophy and commitment to honest farming practices while ushering guests through a tasting of four of her family’s wines. The event is the brainchild of Hart & Cru, a local wine concierge and consultant service, and the discussion will be moderated by founder Kevin Hart. Charcuterie snacks will be provided by Dutch’s Larder. For tickets, click here.
