You Should Be Eating This: Kimchi Jjigae

721

If there’s one soup that epitomizes soul-sustaining warmth for me, it’s the Korean staple, kimchi jjigae. Go ahead and roll your eyes, chicken soup fans. I’m sure nothing beats your mom’s recipe. But I’ll still plead the case for a big black bowl of bubbling fermented cabbage, tofu, pork, green onions, and garlic that has just enough spice to warm you from the inside out. We rounded up a couple Korean spots around town that make a mean version. Or whip up a batch at home with this easy recipe. The Korean chili flakes and paste can be purchased at CAM Asian supermarket in Evendale, Jang Tuh in Sharonville, or either Jungle Jim’s location (Fairfield and Eastgate).
