It wasn’t until her daughter’s recent wedding that April Agler realized just how difficult it was to actually find any of the ever-popular rustic-chic wedding décor in the Cincinnati area.
Being a self-described “crafty kind of gal,” Agler decided to make all the rustic wedding decorations for her daughter’s wedding herself—and that inspired her to create Pieces by April, a décor rental company. Agler handcrafts everything from log centerpieces to whiskey barrel bars to full-size wooden doors for outdoor ceremonies, and she’ll make (or track down) just about any rustic item you have in mind. (She’ll help with decorating, too.) We’ve featured a few of our favorite pieces below.
“I get my materials from a number of places,” says Agler. “The tree slabs were cut down and treated by my handy husband, and the wood for the personalized signs and rustic bar are from used wooden crates. I’ve found some of my pieces from secondhand stores and flea markets, and I make the center pieces and wreaths myself.”
“Lately, the hottest items people want are the rustic bar package, the antique doors, the do-it-yourself photo booth, and the whiskey barrels,” says Agler. “I think the shabby chic dessert table is another popular new look that is adorable.”
