If squishing yourself into a Music Hall balcony seat is simply not your jam this summer, take your blanket (and some snacks, obviously) to Oakley Playground where de la Dance Company stages its second Dance Under the Stars performance.

Ballet purists might balk at the unfussy setting, but that’s exactly what the company is going for. “We will be doing a full fledged performance like we would do at the Aronoff,” says Artistic Director Mario de la Nuez, “only in a more casual environment.” To wit, wear comfy shoes and get your ballet fix while also stretching your legs and eating those snacks that you brought.

The free performance includes an excerpt from Swan Lake and two original contemporary works: Noche Caliente, choreographed by Artistic Director Meredith Benson and inspired by the flamenco fusion band Gipsy Kings, and Vices, choreographed by company dancer Alexandra Brannon. De la Dance Company’s dance school will also perform, along with Salsanatti, which offers Salsa lessons to the community.

July 25-26, Aug. 1-2, 8:30 p.m., free, Oakley Playground, 3900 Paxton Ave., Oakley, 513-871-0914, deladancecompany.org
