Get your face paint and sun glasses ready: Cincinnati’s premiere summer music festival, Bunbury, is back again this June, boasting major headliners like Snoop Dogg, The Black Keys, and The Decemberists.
Because we’re bursting with excitement over this hometown musical holiday, we pulled together a few song picks from some of our favorite performers playing this year’s fest:
The Avett Brothers
Shakey Graves
Tame Impala
Father John Misty
And of course, our hometown heroes: Wussy. Watch their video for “Teenage Wasteland,” an exclusive performance for Cincinnati Magazine.
This year the festival sees some changes, as PromoWest Productions took over ownership from Bill Donabedian in December. While still taking place at Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove, the festival has moved its dates to June 5-7 from its previous mid-July heat-fest, preventing any conflict with the MLB All-Star Game.
PromoWest has broadened the lineup of acts, hoping to appeal to a wider range of fans by representing more genres and tastes. They’ve also rearranged the stage situation that those bands will be performing on, planning for two main stages and two side stages rather than the single main stage and five side stages that filled Bunbury’s grounds in the past.
Tickets are available on Bunbury’s website. Here is the rest of the lineup, with the daily schedule to be announced soon:
