Located on the southern bank of the Ohio River and just three miles from downtown Cincinnati sits the eccentric city of Bellevue, Kentucky. With a plethora of local shops, plus unique restaurants and breweries, Bellevue offers plenty of activities the whole family can enjoy. Here are five festive reasons why you should visit Bellevue this holiday season.
Simplify your holiday shopping and find all your gifts in one place
Support local businesses and find the perfect present for your friends and family at Bellevue’s various boutiques and businesses. For your loved one who adores everything rustic, check out Coda Co. for upcycled furniture and home décor. If you’re looking for an especially unique gift, head over to Splendid Things to find handbags, furniture accent pieces, handcrafted and vintage jewelry, decorative garden items, and more. Next, take a short walk to Cleves & Lonnemann Jewelers to pick out jewelry that will dazzle the special someone in your life. For the fashionista in your family, be sure to visit T’s Chic Boutique, a shop owned and operated by a mother-and-daughter duo who offer the latest fashion in women’s clothing, shoes, purses, and accessories. For the art aficionados, swing by Frame and Hang Studio Gallery, which offers customized framing and shadow box options, plus pre-framed prints and locally made artwork. Your last stop should include a visit to Le Sorelle, a resale boutique that features new and previously owned women and children’s apparel and accessories, as well as an eclectic mix of toys, greeting cards, and contemporary gifts. The best part about these six shops? They’re all located just a short walk apart along Fairfield Avenue.

You can also enter for the chance to win 30 available prizes of $25 in “Bellevue Bucks” or the grand prize of a $250 Fairfield Avenue shopping spree.
Bellevue offers plenty of family fun for all ages
There’s plenty of fun located in the heart of Bellevue that your entire family will enjoy. Satisfy your sweet tooth with a visit to the nostalgic Schneider’s Sweet Shop, which offers homemade candies and ice cream in an old-fashion storefront. If candy isn’t your cup of tea, Mrs. Teapots Tea Room definitely will be. Head over to this English-inspired tearoom to browse their wide selection of imported and domestic teas, or sit down for High Tea to try their salads, soups, gourmet sandwiches, pastries, and desserts. After snacking on sweets and sipping on tea, take a walk down the block to Cozy Cottage for handcrafted gifts, candles, custom-made doll clothes, local goods, and more.

Along with daily breakfast and lunch options, Avenue Brew also offers homemade pies, brownies, cookies, assorted breads, lemon cake, and more. If you’re looking to eat a bit later in the day, check out The Elusive Cow, which offers a full-service bar and uses only locally sourced, high-quality, organic, and natural ingredients in its unique sandwiches, burgers, and housemade deserts. If you still can’t figure out where to eat, don’t get in a twist—take a walk to The Pretzel Place, which offers gourmet pretzel sandwiches and dessert pretzels. For casual family dining, try Fessler’s Legendary Pizza and Hoagies for a quick meal that’s sure to satisfy your hunger. Fessler’s, which has been family-owned and operated since 1963, offers fresh pizza, pasta, hoagies, salads, and more.

The Fairfield Market is a unique multi-purpose space that acts as a coffeehouse, deli, boutique, bar, and a gathering spot all under one roof. Try one of their oat-milk mochas or a delicious cocktail that will help you wind down after a long day of shopping and walking. In the mood for a craft brew? Check out Darkness Brewing, a microbrewery that focuses on darker and unusual brews and offers food trucks, art, events, and live music. Try their Blumpkin, a seasonal ale brewed with real pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice, for a holiday twist on an everyday favorite. If you like to snack while you drink, head to Three Spirits Tavern for a full bar and a menu featuring empanadas, flatbreads, and Saratoga chips and dips, plus seasonal specials, which are perfect for the holidays.
Of course, this is only a sampling of what Bellevue has to offer! Visit with family and friends this holiday season to explore this charming city.
