A lot of us want to stay active this winter, but the chilly weather can deter us from making that journey to the gym. Ice skating takes advantage of the low temps, and is a fun way to get moving rather than staying wrapped up on the couch. Here are our top five ice skating rinks to get you feeling warm outside in the cold.

UC Health Ice Rink presented by Fifth Third Bank

Fountain Square’s yearly conversion into an ice rink had to make it on this list. For $6 admission (with a $4 skate rental), you can enjoy a night of ice skating with your friends, family, or children. The rink also offers a full-service concessions tent with hot and cold snacks, Coca-Cola beverages, beer, and wine, enough to keep your children full and you entertained.

Ice Skating at Ark Encounter

If you are looking for a bit more atmosphere with your ice-skating experience, look no further than ice skating at Ark Encounter in Williamstown, KY. The Glice rink—the largest in North America—sits in front of the life-size Noah’s Ark, which is lit up at night with festive Christmas bulbs. For $8, you can skate as long as you want, but hurry: This rink is only open until December 30.

This rink is only $6 per person (including skate rentals) and $4 for a child 14 years and younger.
