Need something to do with the littles? Whether you’ve got kids visiting or are looking to entertain your own crew, these three spots can help you craft a memorable day out.
Carol Ann’s Carousel
Kids—and kids at heart—can climb onto the queen bee, the Findlay Market pig, or the Carew Tower gorilla for a magical ride. The carousel is a moving work of art in a glass building at Smale Riverfront Park, with 44 hand-carved animals all representative of the Queen City. Bonus: There’s a splash pad right outside, plus the park’s playscape below.
8 E. Mehring Way, downtown, (513) 381-3756
Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
As our beloved zoo approaches its 150th birthday, it has launched a $150 million campaign to make it even better—larger habitats for the elephants, polar bears, and rhinos, and a splash park for the littles. When it’s time for a break, the beer garden will be the place to relax.
3400 Vine St., Avondale, (513) 281-4700
EnterTRAINment Junction
Two miles of train track and more than 1,200 train cars, running through scenes depicting railway history, are a sight to behold at this family-favorite attraction, the largest indoor train display in the world. There’s a cool replica of Coney Island, with interactive buttons to run amusement park rides, and tons of ways to play (catch a ride on the outdoor kids’ train during warmer months).
