Graeter’s Final Summer Bonus Flavor Released
Last week, Graeter’s unveiled the final flavor in its limited time summer bonus flavor series: Caramel Pecan Cheesecake, a blend of mascarpone ice cream, buttery praline pecans, caramel truffles, and cheesecake pieces. This new flavor is available at Graeter’s shops by the scoop and in pints. There’s still time to place an order online for all six flavors if you missed any of them.

Hangover Easy Opens in Mt. Lookout
HangOverEasy opened its Mt. Lookout location last week, taking over the old Cibo Vino Wine Bar & Cucina space on Mt. Lookout Square. The boozy breakfast/brunch joint, which was featured in our Breakfast cover package in May 2023, will use the location to test out new menu items before rolling them out to other locations.

The Pickled Pig on Triple D Tonight
To celebrate its appearance on the culinary roadshow Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, The Pickled Pig is having a watch party at 9 p.m. tonight, August 22, at Northern Row Brewery & Distillery (111 W. McMicken Ave., Over-the-Rhine). The episode “Flavortown Flavorfest” describes Pickled Pig owners Gary Leybman and Libby Power as “a husband-and-wife team in Cincinnati specializing in farm-to-table and fermentation, plating a prime-time pork burger with kimchi, plus smoked turkey and sauerkraut on sourdough.”

New Italian Restaurant Opens in Lebanon
Troni’s Italian Bistro is schedule to open in Lebanon tonight, August 22. “This journey hasn’t been easy, but every step has been worth it—and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our amazing community,” a Facebook post said. “Come celebrate with us and be among the first to experience our brand-new location. We can’t wait to welcome you through our doors!” The location at 3855 Lower Market Street is an offshoot of the popular Dayton-area Italian restaurant of the same name.

French Crust Closing This Weekend
After more than a decade in business, Over-the-Rhine fave French Crust Café & Bistro is calling it quits. The cafe—which was originally opened on Vine Street by the late Chef Jean-Robert de Cavel 2013 before moving to Findlay Market in 2016—will host its final service this Sunday, August 24. “This was not an easy decision,” said Annette de Cavel, owner of the deCavel Group, in a press release. “After Jean-Robert’s passing, I devoted myself to keeping our restaurants alive, as they were part of the dream we built together. I am deeply grateful to our loyal customers, our incredible staff, and this community for walking alongside us.” The café opens at 9 a.m. and the bistro is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Five On Vine Rebrands
Last week, Crown Restaurant Group announced that it had made some changes to one of its restaurants. The group rebranded Five On Vine to Five Kitchen & Bar, with a slightly lower price point and new menu items. “This rebrand marks more than a visual refresh—it’s a step toward creating a space that feels both elevated and approachable,” The restaurant said in an Instagram post. “Whether you’re joining us for a pregame cocktail, a relaxed dinner, or a night out with friends, Five Kitchen & Bar is designed for the way you dine now.” New dishes include Linguine Alle Vongole (clams, white wine, herb butter, and lemon), Proper Prime Beef Cheeseburger (griddled onions, sumac aioli, American cheese, and fries), and Frites Fromage (cheese fries and black truffle fonduta).

New Indian Spot Opens Downtown Next Week
Indian spot Flavors N Spices opens at 628 Vine Street on Monday, August 25. The restaurant is taking over the old Haru space in the Central Business District, making it the only authentic Indian restaurant downtown. The menu will feature traditional north and south Indian dishes, like lamb pepper masala and paneer makhani, and the place will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

OTR Bar Hosts Taco Pop-Ups Next Week
HomeMakers Bar is hosting a taco pop-up during its Margarita Week from Tuesday, August 26, through Sunday, August 31. Grab one of four specialty margs and some tacos these eateries:

  • Tuesday, August 26—SeasonedDish Catering
  • Wednesday, August 27—Pata Roja Taqueria
  • Thursday, August 28—Jamie Clemento Tacos
  • Friday, August 29—Jamie Clemento Tacos
  • Saturday, August 30—Pata Roja Taqueria

You can grab tacos starting at 6 p.m. each day.

Wawa to Open Third Location
Wawa continues to roll out stores in the tri-state with the opening of the Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain’s third location. The new store is set to open at 5450 Kings Mills Road in Mason on Thursday, August 28. The grand opening celebration features a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m., free t-shirts for the first 100 customers, free hot coffee (while supplies last). Known for its fresh food offerings, specialty beverages, and hoagies, the chain plans to open eight to 10 other locations in the state by the end of the year.

The Return of LaRosa’s Stuffed Pizza Pie
LaRosa’s stuffed pizza pie is back on the pizza chain’s menus across the Queen City for a limited time. Now through November 2, customers can get an pizza with any three toppings, baked between two layers of crust with LaRosa’s four-cheese blend, and brushed with a flavorful garlic pesto sauce starting at $18.99.
