Hyde Park is well known for its traditional style, but this swanky contemporary breaks the mold. “In short, there is no house like this in the area,” says listing agent Jody Aschendorf. “This home is unmatched in style, design, and European contemporary finishes.” The neighboring homes have nearly identical profiles, but 2124 is different, starting at the facade. The seller of this European-style house purchased it from Great Traditions Builders when it was just a roof and frame structure, then worked with designers to customize the floor plan to include details like an open-air stairwell, expansive kitchen, and outdoor living space.

Throughout the three-bedroom, four-bath home, light washed oak floors reflect the natural light. The sleek kitchen features a quartz waterfall island, oversized drawers and cabinets, and gold hardware. The oven and range fit seamlessly into the cabinets (and the cooktop is installed so that the grate is flush with the countertop to give the eye an uninterrupted line). The large wet bar gives you plenty of space for mixing drinks and laying out snacks, plus it comes with a wine fridge. Large windows and French doors open up to an outdoor patio, expanding the space for warm weather entertaining. The open living room is anchored by a glass-enclosed fireplace with a live-edge maple ledge that coordinates with the kitchen dining table. Surrounding the fireplace is a Shou Sugi Ban wall, the ancient Japanese finishing technique of burning wood adds texture and a dramatic focal point to the room. Off the living space, there’s a half-bath and dining room with floor-length windows and a sculptural light fixture reminiscent of tree branches.

The glass enclosed stairwell features a dramatic vertical pendant fixture drawing you to the second floor living space. A strategically placed skylight and wall mirrors bring plenty of light into this space, where the built-in entertainment center (with plenty of shelving) anchors a casual seating area outside the bedrooms. Clean white cabinets and counters set a peaceful mood in the master bath. A double vanity, mirrors, and oversized shower with multiple shower heads create a luxe oasis.

Outside, the fenced in backyard features a patio and upper-level deck that is accessed from the master bedroom. But perhaps the best part is the LEED certification, a measure of eco-friendly habits and amenities a home or building includes. Here, that includes high-efficiency lighting, HVAC system, and windows. The home’s tucked-away location still puts you in a prime spot, with easy access to Hyde Park Square and all of O’Bryonville. The BonBonerie, O’Bryon’s Bar and Grill, and Cincinnati Country Club are all within walking distance. Environmentally conscious and a convenient location—what more could you ask for?
