Yellow Springs Street Fair

The biannual street fair is Yellow Springs on steroids. The town always offers a solid shopping spread in a laidback setting: handmade goods, books, jewelry, art and decor, imports, etc.—locally and internationally sourced. But this weekend it’s on a wholly different scale, and with extra life on the streets (buskers and belly dancers, to start).

More than 250 visiting vendors set up shop along the streets of Yellow Springs, and the town’s roughly 65 storefronts will also be open. Break from shopping for the music and beer fest, which runs from noon until 7 p.m. at the Bryan Center. Beer from Yellow Springs Brewery (get our take here) will be among those on tap. And between food stands setting up for the day and Yellow Springs dining mainstays like Ha Ha Pizza, Current Cuisine, and Winds Café & Bakery, you will not be going hungry.

Avoid parking struggles and the stress of driving through droves of pedestrians: There’s a free shuttle service from 9 a.m.–7 p.m., so park at Yellow Springs High School (420 E. Enon Road) or Young’s Dairy (6800 Springfield-Xenia Road) and catch a ride downtown.

And if you want to get in a hike before heading back south, you’re in the right spot—Yellow Springs has some serious natural wonders.
