Looking for a weekend vaycay? Think small. Whether you like the city life or are more of a country mouse, here are five cozy bed and breakfasts handy to Cincinnati.

It’s not your home, but it sure does feel like it. Three miles from downtown Columbus, the shingled 1900s-era house is bursting with historic charm and coziness. Ask for a free YMCA pass on your stay (it’s just down the street)—you’ll need it to burn off the freshly baked brownies. Southern 1830’s mansion. Horse capital of the world. Need more incentive? Stay in one of the four classic movie-themed suites (fancy a night in Casablanca?) or, if you’re looking for privacy, the new guesthouse. Explore the renovated home or take a tour of the extensive grounds that feature an ancient stone pond, original carriage house, and tree-lined walkways. Eat your amaretto French toast in the glass Conservatory, but go ahead and sip your freshly ground coffee on the screened in porch overlooking the garden.
