Celebrate Christmas, Dickens-style

128

Looking for a Victorian Christmas fix? Close enough to home, yet just far enough for a weekend getaway with the family, Cambridge, Ohio celebrates the holidays by transforming itself into a quaint Dickensian (in a good way!) village.

Strolling along Wheeling Avenue, otherwise known as historic National Route 40, you’ll see hand-made, life-sized character scenes displaying all your Christmas Carol favorites, from Tiny Tim to Bob Cratchit. Be sure to stop by the Historic Old Train depot starting at 10 a.m. for holiday movies, children’s games, cookie decorating, and a display of 19th-century toys. Also on offer: museum tours, hot chocolaty hayrides, and costumed volunteers.
