1. NYE at Perfect North Slopes
Night skiing! Take to the slopes until 1 a.m. on New Year’s Eve for skiing, snowboarding, or snow tubing. Watch the pros as they perform a torchlight parade, and wait for the midnight fireworks display. Lift tickets valid from 9 p.m.–1 a.m. are $35. 8-hour lift tickets are $47. 2. International New Year’s Eve at the Cincinnati Museum Center
If you have kids (or just prefer an early bedtime), you may be looking for some daytime activities. The Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal celebrates on the hour along with countries in different time zones, from Australia at 11 a.m. to Israel at 5 p.m. Get your passport stamped as you travel from place to place, learning about each one’s customs, music, and culture. 3. Taft’s Ale House New Year’s Bash
Don’t miss the inaugural New Year’s Bash at Taft’s. Crowd into the remodeled OTR church and ring in 2016 with friends and a “rare beer tapping” at midnight. Dress to impress, but black ties are not necessary (it’s a beer hall, after all). Eden Park Band will be performing live, so grab a standing-room ticket or reserve a table for your group. Plus, if this party becomes a tradition, you’ll be able to say you were there at the beginning. 5. 21c New Year’s Eve Package
If you’re making the trip to downtown for the night, you’re gonna need a place to crash. 21c has you covered with their New Year’s Eve Package, which includes a bottle of champagne to your room upon arrival, $40 towards breakfast in the morning, and a late 1 p.m. checkout for those who need extra time to get going after a long night at one of the four parties listed above.
