LaRosa’s Balloon Glow at Coney Island

Fourth of July Dinner Cruise (to Balloon Glow)
For anyone feeling too fancy to drive to Balloon Glow, BB Riverboats offers an alternative form of transportation. Self Diploma Concert at Fountain Square
Even though there aren’t any official Fourth of July festivities at Fountain Square, check out this weekend’s presentation of the weekly Self Diploma Saturday Concert Series, featuring indie rapper Dave Zup and Cincinnati-based DJ Kev the Goon, among other acts. Colerain Township 4th of July 5K for the Pray Hope Believe Foundation
Start off your Independence Day with a 5K Walk/Run supporting the Pray Hope Believe Foundation and The Cure Starts Now. Money raised from the event will support research to finding a cure for pediatric brain cancer—a good workout for a great cause. Northside Rock N’ Roll Carnival
This totally free carnival features local and national musical acts Thursday through Saturday of the holiday weekend. Daily attractions include a Beer Garden at Hoffner Park and street entertainment (Fire breathers! Sword swallowers!) The parade on Saturday will provide your fix for traditional celebration, but the carnival promises unexpected fun. July 2-4, 6 p.m.-2 a.m., parade July 4 at 12 p.m., northsiderocks.com
