Style Edit Steps Out of the Closets, Into a New Studio Space

Walking into Style Edit’s new studio in Hyde Park is like walking into a dress-up dream closet: The light-filled space on Edwards Road is decked out with racks full of colorful dresses, a bar cart stocked with sparkling water, and piles of bling-y jewelry, all surrounding the huge desk where stylists Brock Maitland and Marsha Ashley work. “We’re hoping to take the world by storm,” says Ashley. “This felt like the next step.”

Style Edit offers personal styling and closet organizing services, which usually take place at clients’ home. So while a physical studio space may initially seem counterintuitive, it actually makes perfect sense.

“We wanted somewhere to collaborate, to work when we need to be productive, and a place for clients to drop by. It’s less intimidating than going to someone’s house and setting up in their personal living space,” says Ashley.

Current and potential clients can book consultations, set up time to meet the duo, or just drop in and say hello if the girls are in the office. The space will also be available to clients getting ready for special occasions, serving as a place to get styled and even get hair and makeup done. “It’s a little luxury getaway for our clients,” says Maitland.

A brick-and-mortar space is already a big step, but the Style Edit team has even more in the works, including media partnerships, bridal styling services, and getting back to their roots with more blogging. It’s an exciting time with plenty of moving parts to balance, but their main objective remains the same.

“Our goal is to show that a stylist is for everyday life—we love working with everyday women and making them feel beautiful.”
