Whether you’re a master collector or just have an eye for modern design, this is your show. Featuring 75 dealers from around the country, 20th Century Cincinnati brings authentic modernist furniture, apparel, lighting, decor, dinnerware, and more to the Sharonville Convention Center.
Celebrating its 20th year, this annual retrospective of vintage modern design features items from the Arts & Crafts, Art Deco, Machine Age, Streamline, Mid-Century Modern, and Op/Pop eras. On the higher end, look for Eames stools and chairs from Detroit-based Tom Gibbs Studio or teak cabinets designed by George Nelson from Chicago-based Circa Modern. Not ready to make such an investment? Cincinnati’s Ye Olde Breweriana offers a variety of styles and sizes of old, quirky beer signs. For artwork, see the selection of originals from local favorites Charley and Edie Harper.
If your checkbook needs a break but your desire to browse does not, stop by this year’s special exhibit, which looks at the contributions of Italian design to modernism through a display of posters, pottery, furniture, fashion accessories, and art glass. It’s all collected from regional dealers and collectors, and it’s all about la dolce vita in the modernist era.
20th Century Cincinnati runs this Saturday and Sunday (February 22–23) from 11 am to 5 pm. Adult admission is $7, and one ticket covers both days.
