Shop Local From Your Living Room

199

There’s nothing like a little shopping-as-cardio, but for us lazy folks, online shopping is workout enough. It doesn’t get much better than sitting in bed and devouring a pint of Graeter’s ice cream while buying new shoes. And getting that anticipated package in the mail a few days later? It’s like a mini birthday every time!

Then again, online shopping can lead us to feel guilty, since most statistics show that shopping local is the best way to keep money in the community. Luckily for us, there are a few online shops based right here in the Cincinnati area, so click away.

1. True Adorn Boutique
Offering contemporary and trendy juniors fashion in sizes XS to 3X, True Adorn’s focus is clothing, jewelry, and accessories at affordable prices. Think cute maxi dresses, sparkly statement necklaces, and plenty of chevron prints. We Be All Night dress, $45

2. Brillez Jewelry
Cincinnati native Amanda Mills founded this handcrafted jewelry line just over a year ago. Mills cites travel and nature as sources of inspiration, and this spring’s Wooden Collection is a direct reflection of that influence: The line of wooden pendants is delicately decorated with natural stones, Swarovski crystals, and repurposed vintage elements. Lola pendant necklace, $70

3. Pink Slate Boutique
Pink Slate Boutique carries pretty-yet-edgy clothing and accessories for women of all sizes via a selection of colorfully casual styles. Be sure to check out the extensive collection of lightweight printed scarves—they’re perfect for spring. Pretty in Paisley scarf, $18
4. Harlow & Liv
We had a chat with the lovely ladies behind Harlow & Liv a few months ago, and since then they have certainly stocked up for spring! With a selection of cute skirts and dresses in yummy pastels, plus the Artfully Disheveled collection for guys, they’re a great online source for style. Bubblegum pink midi skirt, $32.99

5. AdornUSA
It’s fair to say that we’ve mentioned AdornUSA a few times, both in print and here online. The considerable selection of statement jewelry and brightly colored bags makes it hard to resist, especially when upgrading your look is as easy as sitting on the couch and clicking “buy.” Classic Mary Python Clutch, $189

6. Ohio Against the World
If you’ve been in the city for more than a week, surely you’ve seen (young, cool) people sporting Ohio Against the World gear. The simple slogan has become a calling card for ambitious types eager to rep their state—and creator Floyd Johnson resides right here in the Queen City. Ohio Against the World tee, $30
