On the rocks, mixed with ginger beer, as part of a Manhattan: There is no wrong way to drink bourbon. But did you know that you can also enjoy your favorite spirit in dessert form? The Party Source’s bourbon buyer, John Hughes, gives us a recipe for a bourbon cream ice cream sundae that, he says, “will make your friends think you’re a rock star.” Just make sure to keep it away from the kiddos.

Bourbon Cream Sundae

INGREDIENTS
½ gallon of vanilla ice cream
1 bottle of Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream
Whipped cream and toppings of your choice

METHOD

  1. Take about half a gallon of vanilla ice cream and leave it out until it gets soft, or, if you don’t want to wait, nuke it in the microwave for 10-second intervals until it reaches the desired consistency.
  2. Pour half a bottle of Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream into ice cream. Lightly mix until it’s incorporated into the ice cream.
  3. Freeze until ice cream has hardened again, then separate into individual parfait glasses
  4. Dress with whipped cream and any other desired toppings. Finish with a drizzle of bourbon cream
