Run by Noi and Aunt Phew, these women have a firm thumb on the kitchen when it comes to the great flavors of Thailand and Laos, countries that the Mekong River touches. Officially, the house specialty is the pho noodle soup, but you could just as easily pick out 20 dishes on the menu that customers would tell you, “That's the real house specialty.” Like four fried rices, different as the seasons. They're proud enough here to make things fresh, all the way down to the strawberry sauce they serve with the fresh-fried crispy noodles. In these days when the mom-and-pop place has nearly become extinct, it's great to see a family restaurant that introduces us to home cooking we wish we grew up with.
