You Should Be Eating This: Turkey Po Boy

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of New Orleans To Go, the cajun food truck that is occasionally near my office on Fountain Square. Inevitably, when I stand in the line I hear people ordering the same thing: shrimp po boy, shrimp po boy, shrimp po boy. Don’t get me wrong—it’s good. But there’s something to be said for mixing it up.

One advantage is that they’re more likely to have the thing you order (I’ve come too late to get the shrimp po boy before). But more importantly, it stretches your boundaries. And at New Orleans To Go, it give you a chance to try their special glaze sauce on items other than shrimp. Today, it graced the Cajun Turkey Jack po boy, which—though small—featured that same crisp-yet-chewy bun and stellar preparation that I’ve come to expect. (I’ve also seen the sauce on wings, which were spectacular.)

The next time you see the truck, they may not have the Turkey Jack. That’s ok. Just do me a favor—try something new. You won’t be sorry you did.
