As far as I’m concerned, tacos are merely a vehicle for salsa. So I felt strongly that Gomez Salsa’s walk-up window would be a solid lunchtime choice. I was correct. This is the vegetarian taco:
It has everything—most notably sauteed peppers, mushrooms, onions, cheese, and medium-hot verde salsa. And I didn’t event opt for extras like sour cream and guacamole. The little foil-wrapped packet smelled so good that I stopped in my tracks and ate it right on the neighboring stoop.
Bonus: If you’re thinking that Gomez Salsa tacos will be on the scale of, say, Bakersfield’s (the OTR eatery serves up corn tortilla tacos that are approximately the size of a Sacagawea dollar), then you’ll be pleasantly surprised. These little guys are hefty; you’ll probably only need one. But I don’t know your life.
