Open: Sprout Market & Eatery in Mt. Adams

307

If there’s one thing missing from Mt. Adam’s, Cincinnati’s eclectic architectural jewel of a neighborhood, it’s a grocery store. And while you won’t find a Kroger wedged into any of the tiny storefronts soon, residents have heartily welcomed Sprout Market & Eatery on Pavilion Street, in the former Alive One space.

When they say market, they don’t mean corn nuts and beef jerky. Stop in and pick up a loaf of Blue Oven bread, a jar of Fab Ferments kraut, Mt. Kofinas olive oil, farm eggs, and plenty of other local products, including a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Looking to just grab a bite? Sample from their menu of seasonal soups, salads and sandwiches (all priced under $10) or sit down with an entrée of house made ravioli, seared Cobia, or steamed mussels. While there are still plenty of spots to knock back a beer on the hill, a café and market dedicated to whole foods is a much needed addition.
