Ludlow-Bromley Yacht Club’s Monday Steak Night

I grew up in one of those families where when the temperature reached 55 degrees, we started eating dinner outside on the deck. And grilling? My dad will grill in a polar vortex snowstorm without thinking twice. If you can relate to this (or you just want to sit outside and eat cheap steak), you need to check out the Ludlow-Bromley Yacht Club’s Lagoon Saloon on Monday nights. No, you do not need to wear Sperry Topsiders or dress like Mr. and Mrs. Howell from Gilligan’s Island. In fact, the look was decidedly more Harley-Davidson than Howell. But you do need to bring your appetite. For $12.50, you’ll get a 10-ounce strip steak, a giant baked potato, an ear of corn, rolls and a side salad. Best part—you’ll grill your own steak. Giant grills are set up to allow guests to cook their own chops to desired temperature, take it back to their open-air dockside table and dig in. A word of caution: It’s cash only and the kitchen is officially closed, so there are no substitutions or other options. Purchase a bucket of five domestic beers for $11, and prepare to kick back and watch the sun set.
