West Fest (June 28 & 29)

For the side of town that so often receives little-brother status, West Fest is its annual revenge. Cheviot gets the Mardi Gras treatment for two days each June, blocking off the intersection of Glenmore and Harrison as upwards of 25,000 people descend to (binge) drink in all that Cincinnati’s left coast has to offer. Sample food from underrated spots like Maury’s Tiny Cove, Thai Taste, and NYPD Pizza, not to mention a wide array of deep-fried anything (go with the PB&J—you may be shocked, but you will not be disappointed). There’s also a classic car show on Saturday (weather permitting) that you can swing by while the kids rearrange their internal organs on the Screamer—a giant, swinging pendulum of terror—behind Cheviot United Methodist. They won’t even mind when you polish off that extra slice of NYPD that was meant for them. downtown Cheviot, westsidestreetfest.com
