What started as “visiting day” for students and their families back in 1916 has morphed into the mother of all Cincy church festivals—at least in terms of size—raising more than $5 million for St. Rita School for the Deaf over the past quarter century. Aside from the standard but always entertaining festival games (Pick 6, Hi-Lo, Bars & Bells), the $2 admission fee also enters you in the daily raffle, with a chance to take home Jimmy Buffett tickets or a family membership to the Cincinnati Zoo. Hunger isn’t an option either, with Skyline Chili, rib eye steak sandwiches, and full spaghetti dinners all playing second fiddle to St. Rita’s signature mock turtle soup. Share a bowl for only $2, or take home a gallon for $18. Just make sure you get it sooner rather than later. Come Sunday night, they’ll be plumb out. 1720 Glendale Milford Rd., Glendale, srsdeaf.org/StRitaFest.aspx
