These fry guys are keeping it real.

Having grown tired of life as a hedge fund analyst, PJ Neumann knew he needed a 2.0. He ditched the starched collars and enlisted the help of his brother Matt and friend Mike Mandell-Brown, both cooks at local restaurants. Operating out of a bright yellow panel truck formerly used to deliver potato chips, Hungry Bros. offers up frat-tastic food with culinary school flair.

One day, they’ll offer a selection of sweet and savory pies, salads made with OTR-grown produce, or fry-centric choices like Vladimir Poutine and Bill Murray Chicken Curry. The next day, they’ll mix it up. But one menu item remains constant: the Kevin Bacon Ranch, a beautiful mess of waffle fries with ranch dressing, grilled chicken, and bacon. Pitas are a menu staple, too. The Joe Pesci Pita combines pesto chicken with bacon, crisp lettuce, and tomatoes, but we’d be more amused with a little dressing. Meanwhile, the Curry Pita—what, no love for Tim?—is flawless, a spill-proof pocket filled with spicy, curry-sauced chicken, fresh cilantro, and tangy red onion. It’s not all savory, though. The Waffle Fry Sundae pays homage to a kid-tastic habit—dipping French fries in a Wendy’s Frosty. Hungry fries are topped with chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce, powdered sugar, and more bacon, this time candied in whiskey. It’s best to call for their weekly schedule—but the carb-loaded reward is well worth the effort.
