Holidays at Shaker Village

I first visited Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill back in September, when the leaves were (mostly) green and the evening air was still warm. A little time away from civilization at this too-beautiful-to-be-real property did me some serious good, and as my husband and I drove away I was already scheming an excuse to return. Enter Holidays at Shaker Village.

Through the whole month of December, Shaker Village decks out its already super-quaint self in festive décor and hosts adorable events like Holiday Teas, concerts of traditional Shaker Christmas songs from the Danville Children’s Choir and the Bluegrass Dulcimer Club, and lantern-lit guided tours.

There’s also something called the Jingle Bell Shuttle, which involves horses, wagons, and evergreen-lined village roads that will soften up even the most serious Scrooge in your life. Or maybe not—in which case you should probably just go with your mom.
