Local website drawing praise from the interwebs

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” That was the second smartest thing Ferris Bueller ever said. (The smartest was, “I do have a test today—that wasn’t bullshit. It’s on European socialism. I mean, really, what’s the point? I’m not European. I don’t plan on being European. So who gives a crap if they’re socialists? They could be fascist anarchists, it still doesn’t change the fact that I don’t own a car.”)

Anyway, there are countless amazing places and people and things in this country that we bolt past at 70 mph. A locally based website is attempting to change that.

Roadtrippers.com—started and headquartered here in Cincy—is essentially a TripAdvisor-esque tool built specifically for traveling by car, helping users map out a road trip while also alerting them to any number of those amazing places and people and things they can check out along the way.

Things appear to be going well for the website at the moment, too. The New York Times featured it last week, and the site is currently up for a Webby Award in the Travel category. (You can vote here through April 25.)

So the next time you wanna get your Jack Kerouac on, you know where to start.
