Pumpkins + Catapult = Awesome

430

You could compost your pumpkin, or you could catapult it.

While I usually allow my jack-o’-lantern to rot, this year I’m going to load it into a trebuchet and chuck it over a hill. Organized by the Mt. Washington Community Council, the eighth annual Pumpkin Chuck at Stanbery Park will include not only epic amounts of pumpkin chuckin,’ but also live music, food, adult beverages, and kids’ activities with Happen, Inc. And don’t miss the UnRun: kicking off at 3:08 p.m., this “grueling 0.8K” marathon seems just the right amount of physical activity following an evening of gorging oneself on mini-Snickers.

It’s $3 to catapult your own pumpkin to a gooey, gory end, or you can purchase one on site for $5.

November 1, 12 p.m. – 5 p.m., Stanberry Park, sites.google.com/site/mtwashingtoncommunitycouncil
