Thelma Golden has been the director and chief curator of the Studio Museum of Harlem since 2005. A ubiquitous presence wherever modern and contemporary art is shown or discussed, Golden has championed the work of many rising artists. Her lectures and critiques have helped to shape the dialogue about the nature and future of American art. Using the Henry Ossawa Tanner: Modern Spirit retrospective, organized by the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Golden will explore the historic and thematic junctures in art made by artists of African descent. Free to members; $5 students/seniors/ETA members; $10 non-members. Reservations required: 513-721-2787.
