Fourteen of Boone County’s rural treasures invite you to visit them, rain or shine. This self-guided tour of some of the county’s finest working and historic farms will offer visitors a chance to learn more about agriculture in Boone County. The tour will showcase the diversity of Boone County’s agricultural community and includes traditional grain and livestock farms as well as historical farms and agritourism enterprises. Farms on the tour this year are: Benton Family Farm, Broken M Farm, Dinsmore Historical Homestead, Eagle Bend Alpaca Farm, First Farm Inn, Kinman Farms, Potter’s Ranch, Schwenke Farms, Verona Vineyards, Thistlehair Farm, Sandyland Acres, McGlasson Farms, and Sandy Run Stables. The tour will build on the recently completed farm study, Rural Treasures, to show the economic, environmental and cultural values of agriculture.
