Trend Watch: Winter Wedding Gowns

65

If you’re having a cold-weather wedding, we dearly hope that you’re willing to embrace the winterized gown style. Because there are plenty of chic, elegant options this year for long sleeves, illusion lace, and low-cut backs. We’re pretty sure that Frozen has something to do with all this new winter finery. And we’re actually OK with that.

Long Sleeves
There’s something incredibly elegant and sophisticated about a long-sleeved gown. Whether you pair it with a full skirt or something slim and sleek, it’s hard to go wrong with anything that evokes Grace Kelly-esque couture.

Illusion Lace
This trend popped up earlier this year, but is sticking around for winter. Different from traditional lace in its larger design and allusion of being “tattooed” on, it’s the perfect way to add a little edgy-ness to an otherwise sweet and modest gown. We adore an illusion lace back paired with a high neckline and either short or long sleeves.

Low Backs
Plunging backs add a bit of sultry to any gown and will be very popular this winter. For the perfect balance of alluring-yet-not-too-revealing, couple a low back with a high neckline and long sleeves.
