Hot Ticket: The Hunchback of Seville at Know Theatre

171

Set in Spain in 1504, a hunchbacked, adopted sister of a dying queen has to juggle the likes of colonial genocide and a forbidden lover in Know Theatre’s The Hunchback of Seville. If you’re confused at this point, we’re with you, but we’re definitely interested. Written by Charise Castro Smith, the show is billed as “irreverent comedy” (despite all that colonial genocide business) and “a history lesson you won’t get in college”—just ask the CCM drama students who make up the cast.

Oct 9–24, Know Theatre, knowtheatre.com
