Copresented by the Contemporary Arts Center and the 21c Museum Hotel, Albano Afonso: Self Portrait as Light celebrates the Brazilian artist known for his distinctive takes on traditional genres. Afonso deftly incorporates art history into the more than 50 works to populate his first major solo exhibition, which CAC curator Steven Matijco describes as “dazzling, multi-faceted meditations on physical and psychological perception.”
