Midpoint Music Festival

128

Many music festivals take place in a quarantined zone: a large park, an island, the desert. One great thing about MidPoint is how it shows off a big thriving chunk of the city, giving you a chance to go door to door, street to street, day and night, across downtown and Over-the-Rhine. The 13th annual edition of the festival takes place at a dozen-plus participating venues, including a main stage in Washington Park. There will be food trucks, things to drink, and hopefully the weather will be divine. Among the bands on call are headliners The Afghan Whigs, Chromeo, Jessica Lee Mayfield, Crystal Bright and the Silver Hands, and kaboodles more (see above). Also in abundance is the one true sign of a great festival: The bands you end up remembering most are the ones you never heard of before. Be bold. Ya gotta go.

Sept 25–27. Tickets: $20–$179. mpmf.com
