LumenoCity Redux

147

Ready your blankets and picnic baskets: the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is bringing LumenoCity back to Washington Park this summer. Going a step further this year, the event will last three nights and include a LumenoCity Village packed with food, drink, art, and street performers to make it even more of a community event.

The show will begin each night with a Cincinnati Pops performance conducted by John Morris Russell. After intermission, Louis Langrée will take the stage to lead the CSO as Music Hall again becomes a canvas for digital animations choreographed to the music and designed specifically to fit the facade, crafted this year by local creative design and production company Brave Berlin.

Due to the crowds the first time around (35,000 people in two days), the civic lawn will be ticketed this year—though still completely free. You can reserve tickets on their website beginning June 9. If none are left, don’t fret; there are still plenty of un-ticketed vantage points to watch the massive projection onto Music Hall.

Aug 1–3, 8:30 pm, Washington Park, 1230 Elm St., Over-the-Rhine, (513) 744-3372, LumenoCity2014.org
