Open: Halfcut Bottle Shop

163

How about those howlers? For those of us who don’t like to commit to the full-sized growler, the 32-ounce, brown glass apothecary-style bottles filled with local beer (in last night’s case, 50 West’s Penny’s Pilsner), are just the answer. Sixteen taps are currently operating at the new Halfcut in OTR, and at least five of those will always be local.

In honor of the grand opening, growlers and howlers can be purchased for $1 for a limited time (the fill is extra), but beers can also be bought by the glass for immediate consumption. Custom “pick six” packs are also available. Single bottles of each are on display, along with their current popularity at rankbeer.com. Owners Jack Heekin and Tom O’Brian worked with local creatives at Neltner Small Batch to put together an extremely well branded concept that embraces the momentum of the local beer fervor. Bottoms up!
