Dan Wright’s latest OTR venture, Pontiac BBQ, is set to open summer 2014. Located at 1401 Vine, they will serve lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday. According to the man himself, the menu will feature Texas-style brisket, pulled pork, Memphis-style ribs and Alabama-style BBQ chicken, all of which can be washed down with bourbon-focused cocktails, some classic ’80s sodas, and cheap (read non-craft) beer. But the name is the sweetest detail:Pontiac comes from the now-defunct hole-in-the-wall Chicago bar where Wright took his wife for their first date. If you’re planning on stopping by the Art of Food at the Carnegie tomorrow night, you’ll be able to nab a taste of his soon-to-be-signature “Hillbilly Frito Pie.”
