Brunch Report: Hang Over Easy

Note the name. You better not come here looking for vegan and gluten-free options, because this $3 Bloody Mary, chicken n’ waffles, bacon fat French fry emporium is dedicated to extending the bacchanal just a little bit longer. On a recent Saturday morning, the over-served college crowd was packed in like sardines. My trusty 3-year-old dining companion was by far the youngest patron, but no one seemed to care as we washed down our oyster po’ boy with a peppery Bloody Mary (me) and a kid-sized milk (most assuredly, not me). The menu reads like a road map to a cardiologist’s office with a chicken and chorizo fry-up, tipsy bread pudding French toast, fried egg-topped biscuits and gravy and a goetta omelette. The outdoor patio is substantial, and a wall of 40 beers on draft and an actual tap of Jameson ensure that a little hair of the dog is available to help you face all that sunshine.
